| The
Southern Lakes northern boundary is composed of the Mount Lorne
community and sits on the doorstep to the Yukon capital City of
Whitehorse. Stop and stay, just mintes out of town at top
of the line RV Parks, quaint log cabins on the River orcabins tucked
into the boreal forest just off the highway overlooking the snow
peaked mountains. Dine in a log cabin at the Wolf's Den or
stop for fresh halibut in season at the Carcross Cutoff.
Adventure? take the Souther
Klondike Highway # 2 to Annie Lake Road and experience a half hour
drive through the Wheaton River Valley to the Wheaton River, a canoers
delight. Try out the wilderness golf course. Contact our local ATV and ski Tour operator
and really experience the wilderness winter or summer.
Mount Lorne is a true
northern community of real Yukoners. Remote cabins, sled dogs,
Yukon Junior Association of Mushers, soapstone carving workshops,
on the land herbal workshops and local community events all year
round to entertain the curious visitor. Just driving
by you may miss it all but if you can plan ahead and call, there
may just be something happening that you wouldn't want to miss from
a true northern experience.
The
Annual Mount Lorne 'Wildwood Festival' in August is a definate not to
miss experience for the summer traveller. A world of northern
activity awaits you. For more information check out Web Site Link
