The museum is named after a venerated Tlingit elder trapper, fur trader, entrepreneur and photographer. Through his photographs, colourful exhibits of traditional Tlingit regalia and artifacts and his restored 1928 Chevy hunting car, you will experience the story of the Inland Tlingit as they met the rapid changes of the first half of the 20th Century. See our carved masks, painted hide drums, baskets, regalia, clothing and art. We, the Inland Tlingit people haved lived and experienced life differently than our brothers and sisters throughout the pacific coast of Canada and Alaska. Hunting, berry picking, drying fish and living fully on the land and with the land has provided us with a strong pride, rich authentic northern culture and community. Come in Monday to Friday between 1 & 4 pm to view tanning & cleaning moose hides, beading, making bannock and you might witness net setting. Our 'Fish Camp' is a must see.
